I'm hoping one day my dear, sweet friend Lisa will forgive me for taking over her sweet little blog...I just couldn't let the day pass without honoring my beautiful friend and sharing these images that show the inspiring relationship she has with her equally sweet and beautiful daughter.
As I'm sure you've gathered from reading her blog, Lisa is insanely talented in every way. She is FUN and thoughtful and caring and so, so kind. She is a nurturer...a servant and a giver. She has a way of making people feel so special. The picnic she planned for her college-bound daughter was no exception.
She hauled her $10 dresser and bags of food and boxes of dishes across a very busy public park to the perfect picnic spot, laughing and joyful the whole way. She went all out with the beautiful vintage details, right down to the paper and string she used to wrap the sandwiches. What can I say??? She just rocks!

I hope you will take a few minutes and watch this video. I promise you will walk away feeling inspired to be a better wife, mom, sister and friend. What I love most about this video is that Lisa didn't know I was videotaping her. She spoke from her heart, uninhibited, and overflowed with love and emotion. It truly was a beautiful thing.
I hope that you are all lucky enough to have a friend like Lisa. Lis, I love you so very much!

Thanks for sharing this lovely moment.
ReplyDeleteok, I'm BAWLING!!! Lis, you and Laurissa have such a precious relationship. You both are in my prayers as you enter this new phase in your family's life. Thanks for sharing your wonderful wisdom and your heart here. And Miss Kim - what a beautiful gift these photos and videos are, both for Lisa and for us who see their love for each other through them. You are amazing!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful photos, what a beautiful message! It is so nice to hear a voice connecting with your picture. Good luck to you and your daughter. I am beginning this letting go process and it is painful. I keep reminding myself that God loves my son as much as I do and He will always be there to care for him when I'm not. Such a comfort! (BTW, the blog looks great. Who did you use?)
ReplyDeleteLisa,
ReplyDeleteAlso BAWLING! Daughters and mothering our daughters is a blessing unlike anything I could ever have imagined. To have them love the Lord is the cherry on top of the icing on top of the wonderful chocolate cupcake! Does that make sense?
Thanks for being my daughter's friend!
Donna (Kimberly's mom)

ReplyDeleteOh, Lisa...I can hardly even see the screen through all of the tears. I can't tell you how much this video blessed me. I was actually crying a little and missing my mom last night. Watching this video touched me and was so nice to watch. It reminded me of my mom so much. I can't wait to be reunited with her one day in heaven.
ReplyDeleteHearing you talk about your daughter is exactly the way I feel with my son. It was so neat to hear you talking about praying over your kids while they're young and how God honors all of those prayers. I can't wait to see where God and prayers take my kids someday, too.
You're awesome, Lisa! Love you bunches : )

This was beautiful. What a lovely tribute to your daughter. As a mother of a 6 year old starting 1st grade, it is good to know that the struggles and prayers are worth it. What a wonderful way to mark this moment in time. Thank you for sharing this with us. (Came over from Jack and Izzy.)
